European Vacation

parisAfter planning for over a year, I’m less than a week away from leaving for Europe for Calvin500. No, I’m not traveling for  than a church history conference. Three days in Paris, One in Strasbourg, and 6 in Geneva. I’ve never been to Europe, or used a passport for that matter, so I hope to do a lot of writing over the next 3 weeks about the experience.

I’ll be traveling with my good friend Tim Russell and his dear wife Kathe. Tim is the current headmaster at Westminster Academy in Memphis and has served recently as the director for MCUTS (Memphis Center for Urban Theological Studies).

One piece of advice… don’t try to learn French in one week, you’re gonna need at least two.

Spruce up those outdated HTML forms! One of the best I’ve seen of this type of project.

How to Open a Box

Vista BoxI ran across Microsoft’s instructions on how to open a Vista box online, the worst part is, its absolutely necessary, I spent over 5 minutes trying to figure it out about a month ago, and I HAD TOOLS. You can always count on Redmond for innumerable opportunties to scream “what are they thinking!”

Whither Kindle? My $.02

Kindle v1.0Kindle is pretty neat. However, I’m not sure the consumer experience for books needs a problem solved quite like the iPod solved a problem for the music consumer.

On the other hand, It sure would be easier to move 400 books to a new house if they were all in one device, but wheres the fun in that?

Congratulations Brent & Belinda

Brent & BelindaMany congratulations to Brent (my brother) & Belinda on their wedding. A beautiful ceremony & a great time. It was good to have both them both in Memphis for a few days! An Irish blessing for you both:

May your pockets be heavy and your heart be light, May good luck pursue you each morning and night.

Walls for the wind, and a roof for the rain, and drinks beside the fire.
Laughter to cheer you and those you love near you, and all that your heart may desire!

May the gracious God hold you both in the palm of His hands.
And, today, may the Spirit of Love find a dwelling place in your hearts.
