Mars Hill Now offering VodCasts

Many churches have found podcasts to be a great way of publishing audio content, Mars Hill Church in Seattle is among the first few to embrace the vodcast. Mark Driscoll’s current sermon series on 1 Corinthians, “Christians Gone Wild” is currently available.

Click Here for the iTunes Vodcast Link.

The weekly videos are hefty and weigh in at around 300MB each, however Seattle is as tech savvy a city as they come and should be able to deal with the needed bandwidth.

Mars Hill still offers the sermons without video in a traditional audio-only podcast format available at MarsHillChurch.org

Rolling Stones and the Modern Church

Carl Trueman, a.k.a. Mother’s Little Helper, has an interesting post at Ref21 comparing the decline of Rock & Roll from culture-engaging protest, to commercialism, and how American evangelicalism has taken the same path. Excerpt:

I wonder if the same isn’t true of American evangelicalism, in all its forms. A multi-billion dollar industry of books, glossy brochures, swanky conferences, even theme parks. Has a movement of protest against a fallen world simply become one more marketable aspect of that fallen world? Have the sharp tones of our own version of Mother’s Little Helper been dulled by popping the very pills which our song was intended to criticise?

Trust in God and keep your powder dry!

Ligon Duncan writes an amusing post concerning fatalism, providence, war and & elbow grease.

Meanwhile, C.J. Mahaney discusses Fathers and Sons & March Madness.
